snail mail is an unexpected party in a letter
Opening a letter from my penpals always feels like a little version of Christmas. I always get very excited and I want my penpals to feel the same when I reply. This is why I always want to include something special in my letter but sometimes finding ideas can be hard. I know many people feel the same so I decided to share a list of some of my favorite things to include in a penpal letter.
20 things to add to your penpal letter
- Sticker
- Your favorite quotes or lyrics (you can make a list or cute little cards you can hang on the wall)
- Washi Samples
- Tea
- Postcards
- Journaling cards
- Pictures you took (of you, your room/hometown, of places you went to…)
- Pressed flowers and leaves
- Sticky notes
- Mini playlist of your current favorite songs
- Scraps of paper
- Paperclips
- Ribbon or twine
- Ephemera
- Scraps of old newspaper or pretty packaging
- Book pages from old books
- A list of this or that questions for your penpal to answer
- A list of question for your penpal to answer
- Lists (facts about you, places you have been to, goals, dreams, your top ten of something…)
- A bookmark
Do you have a penpal and if you do, what do you love to include in your letters?
